The Worldly Logic: "You cannot dim a person who has learned to shine in the dark".
It sounds inspiring, but in the Abhidhamma, we look deeper. Most "light" in this world is powered by the ego - by a "Self" trying to be strong, resilient, or superior. But any light powered by an "I" is still vulnerable. If the fuel of validation, health, or success runs out, that light flickers.
The Bulletproof Reality:
The only one who truly cannot be dimmed is an Arahant.
Why? Because an Arahant has permanently deleted the "Shadow". In the dark room of Saṃsāra, most people are trying to light a candle while still holding onto the heavy curtains of Avijjā (Ignorance).
An Arahant hasn't just "learned to shine" - they have extinguished the Tanha (Craving) that creates the darkness in the first place.
1. Beyond Vulnerability:
While the "Natural Man" is always one crisis away from mental darkness, the Arahant's mind is Akaliko (Timeless). There is no "Me" left to be insulted, no "Mine" left to be lost, and no "Self" left to be dimmed.
2. The Ultimate Frequency:
Their light isn't a "mood" or a "vibe". It is the result of a total System Overhaul. They have deconstructed the 32 Impurities, seen through the Trillions of Thought-Moments, and reached the Unconditioned (Nibbana).
3. The Path for the Rest of Us:
You don't need to fight the darkness; you need to stop feeding the "Self" that fears it. By walking the Noble Eightfold Path, you move from a flickering candle to an unshakable sun.
Stop trying to "shine". Start trying to "See".
The darkness isn't outside of you - it's the delusion within.
Upgrade your Vision. Become Undimmable.
